Worst Blood Glucose Testing Habits and How to Avoid them
You may occasionally get an inaccurate readout while using a blood glucose metre to monitor your level. When this happens, it’s easy to blame your metre. However, the majority of issues are something else.
Faliure to wash your hands
Even if your hands do not appear dirty, forgetting to wash them before testing can cause your results to be skewed. According to one study, if you handle fruit before testing, your results could be drastically off.
insufficient blood flow
The most common mistake is not getting enough blood on the test strip. I’ve used hundreds of different blood glucose metres since a doctor diagnosed me with diabetes 21 years ago, and I’ve learned that if I don’t get nearly enough blood on the test strip, the meter’s reading will be erroneous.
Using your index finger, squeeze
If your hands are cold or your circulation is poor, you may need to squeeze your finger quite hard to extract enough blood. This results in the receipt of interstitial fluid rather than blood. This, according to one study, “may lead to unreliable readings.” Warming your hands softly before hand can help you not have to squeeze as hard.
Using alcohol, clean your fingertips
Although some manufacturers of blood glucose metres recommend wiping your fingertips with alcohol, this is erroneous. Experts predict that this will result in an abnormally low test result.
Using your finger’s pad
Don’t test on your finger pads because they have more nerve endings. It is more likely that testing there will be unpleasant, both during testing and later when you use that finger for typing or other duties. Determine the optimal blood flow sides of each finger. For me, it’s the outside of my small fingers. If you test regularly, changing the test location on a regular basis is a good idea.
Using expired test strips
The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention determined that old test strips generate incorrect findings, especially if they are past their expiration date. Some metres, but not all, may refuse expired strips. And none of them will reject strips that are nearing their expiration dates, which might result in inaccurate test results, according to CDC specialists.
Ignoring important information
If your A1C level is greater than 8.4, your fasting level was the most responsible for your excessively high blood sugar level. Testing two hours after the first bite of a meal, on the other hand, can yield useful information. This is especially true if you consume more than a few grams of carbohydrate, which is the only substance that has any effect on your level.
Insufficient testing
Only a small percentage of diabetics test regularly enough. Testing in pairs can be advantageous. The goal is to simply test before and after eating, exercising, and going through a stressful experience.
Not putting what you’ve learned through testing to use
One bad mistake you can make, as I indicated in “Don’t Waste Your Time and Money on Diabetes Testing,” is failing to learn anything from your test results. Make use of your testing to change your behaviours. If your level is abnormally high, talk to your doctor about making changes, such as increasing your exercise or changing your diet. Simple changes can frequently have a large impact.
Our Prospects – How Can We Completely Treat Diabetes?
Diabetes is known in Ayurveda as “Madhumeha,” which means “sweet urine.” Diabetes manifests itself through thirst or urine. According to Ayurveda, this is related to an excess of Vata Dosha. Vata dosha builds up in the large intestine and passes to the pancreas, impairing its function.
Pitta Dosha can also cause diabetes. Pitta accumulates in the small intestine before going to the liver, potentially causing pancreatic damage. Because Agni is the major constituent of Pitta, it burns out the pancreas, resulting in Diabetes.
If the aforementioned factors are considered, Ayurvedic diabetes therapy begins with thorough cleaning of the body and dosha balance. The treatment involves herbal mixtures created based on individual Prakruti and Vikruti analyses. Ie. The treatment is based on a person’s bodily composition and which dosha is prominent. Diabetes is reversed with medicines such as Dhara, Udwarthanam, Thalam, and others. The treatment also incorporates Panchakarma and Yoga techniques to address the underlying cause of the disease. Many individuals have successfully reversed Diabetes and are again living a healthy life.
Unlike other therapy methods, which focus solely on symptom management, we target the underlying cause of the condition. Our Diabetes treatment has demonstrated a near-cure and symptom-free state. We emphasise diet, the use of powerful herbs, meditation, herbal oil massage, and yoga. These traditional Ayurvedic practises have shown and demonstrated long-term effectiveness in our Diabetes Treatment.
